The PADI Open Water Course is the most popular scuba diving programme in the world. During your course you will gain fundamental knowledge of scuba diving theory and equipement, as well as developing essential diving skills.
The PADI open water program will enable you to achieve the certification that leads to a life time of amazing adventures.
Your adventure will start in the swimming pool, [confined water], allowing you time to explore the new sensations and learn some new skills whilst being supervised by our instructors. In between pool sessions you will have time to read through the well laid out manual to boost your theoretical knowledge about the subject.
When both pool and book work is completed we will take you into open water to complete your qualifying dives.
The PADI Open Water diver course consists of three main phases:
- Knowledge development, [online, home study or in a classroom], to understand the basic principles of scuba diving.
- Confined water dives to learn basic scuba skills
- Openwater dives to review your skills in open water.
If you have tried diving through the discover scuba diving programme, the skills you learned may be accredited towards a portion of the full padi open water diver course certification.
This course requires no previous experience
You need to be 10 years or older, [students from 10-15 will earn their padi junior open water certification and will be subject to depth limits].
All required materials are provided as part of the course price. It is recommended however that you purchase your own mask and snorkel [due to covid-19 regulations].
You will need to bring swim wear, shorts and tee shirt and a towel, all equipment hire is included in the course price.
What you will be qualified to do. – upon successful completion of this course you will be qualified to dive to 18 meters, [junior restrictions apply], with a buddy, in conditions similar or better than those you trained in.
You will also be able to enrol in the padi advanced open water course or specialty diver courses of your interest.
